Aqua park plan mooted for Mayo lake

AN aqua park is being proposed for Lough Conn.

A feeler for an expression of interest is being put out to groups and clubs who might be interested in running it, Councillor Michael Loftus told a council tourism committee meeting today.

Having asked if there was any update on the proposal, he was informed no further details were available for today's meeting, with head of tourism Padraig Philbin explaining it is with the municipal district office.

Mr. Philbin said the tourism office was supportive of the initiative.
