Covid funding boost for nine Mayo golf clubs

Nine golf clubs in Mayo have shared a timely boost of €177,238 thanks to the Golf Ireland's Resilience Fund.

Ballyhaunis is the biggest recipient with a grant of €25,000 while Westport was awarded €23,538.

Achill Island, Ballinrobe, Swinford and Castlebar have each benefited to the tune of €20,000.

Claremorris got €18,850, Ballina €15,950 and Mulranny €13,900.

The fund, delivered by Sport Ireland, was set up to support clubs directly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
