Late surge sees Edinburgh overcome Connacht

With the last play of the game, Edinburgh ran in a try that condemned Connacht to defeat in their PRO14 clash at The Sportsground this evening.

Nathan Chamberlain worked an opening and dived in under the posts before converting the try to secure a 15-14 victory for the Scottish team.

Connacht, who made a number of changes for this encounter, were leading 14-5 at half-time thanks to tries from Sean O'Brien (making his first start) and Shane Delahunt, with Jack Carty converting both touchdowns.

Edinburgh's solitary first-half score, a try, was scored by lock Magnus Bradbury.

The home side were rocked early in the second half when Jarrad Butler, team captain, was sent off for a high tackle, and the visitors eventually took advantage, out-half Chamberlain scoring a penalty to make it 14-8 before striking with that late try and conversion to secure what looked for a long time an unlikely victory.
