Latest Covid details from Mayo University Hospital released

The number of confirmed Covid cases in care at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) has not changed over the past 24 hours, staying at six.

No new confirmed cases were admitted to the Castlebar facility between 8 p.m. yesterday and 8 p.m. on March 25.

The latest HSE report from the facility was compiled at 8 p.m. yesterday.

MUH's virus figures are now the 15th highest in the country, the list headed by St. James's Hospital, Dublin, with 42.

Galway University Hospital has five positive cases in care, no change, while Sligo University Hospital has 13, a decrease of one.

There is one suspected case at the Castlebar centre, no change.

The ICU at Mayo University Hospital is Covid-free.

Nationally, the number of hospitalised confirmed cases now stands at 304, a fall of four.

The number of patients in intensive care units nationally is 66, down by nine. It is the lowest figure since January.

There are two vacant general beds and no vacant critical care beds today at MUH.

Ten new confirmed cases were identified in Mayo by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre yesterday evening, leaving the county with a 14-day incidence rate of 58.2 - below the national average of 158.1.

Mayo's five-day moving average has risen to seven.

There were 20 additional Covid death reported nationally yesterday and 584 new cases.
