South Mayo earmarked for investment by two local companies

TWO companies in south Mayo are planning major developments.

McHale Engineering are looking to extend their facility in Ballinrobe.

The company has sought the go ahead for a new 2,810 sq. m. two-storey extension to the existing engineering facility comprising a new entrance, showroom and reception area, together with offices, training facilities and ancillary accommodation.

New staff and visitor parking are also part of the proposal.

Also in Ballinrobe, Martin Jennings Wholesale Ltd. are planning a project at their base on the Neale Road.

The company has applied for permission for the demolition of existing structures to include part of vacuum pack chill store, ancillary hut, part of boning hall, ancillary shelter, Department of Agriculture office, livestock record office, payments office and ancillary stores.

The proposal includes a 275 sq. m. extension to and retention of part of existing vacuum pack and chill stores, 302 sq. m. extension to and retention of part of existing boning hall and chill stores, 596 sq. m. extension to existing lairage building to include offices, toilets, archive store, upgrading and extension of lairage/delivery area.

It also includes a 29 sq. m. extension to and retention of part of existing office, plus retention of storerooms at first floor level and external chill stores and sheds and an extension of the car parking area and a new loading bay.
