Mayo Sub Aqua Club mourns passing of hugely popular member
The death of Bryan Timlin, Foxford Road, Ballina, has evoked a huge sense of loss in the community.
Bryan was beloved husband of Sophia and much-loved father of Luca and Sadhbh.
He is also deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving mother Marie, stepfather Dieter, sisters Marguerite, Yvonne and Jillian, and the extended Timlin, Diamond and Madden families, to whom sympathy is tendered.
A tribute to him by the Gráinne Uaile Sub Aqua Club said the organisation in shrouded in sadness following Bryan's untimely death.
The tribute continued: "To say we are heartbroken is an understatement.
"Bryan was a passionate and avid scuba diver and a hugely popular member of Gráinne Uaile Sub Aqua Club.
"During his time with our club Bryan quickly progressed through the diving grades to become a Mon. 2 instructor and scuba examiner.
"He was always willing and at hand to help other divers improve their diving abilities and enjoy their diving experiences.
"Bryan was also a dedicated member of our Search & Recovery Unit, for which he so freely and diligently gave up his time to assist when called upon.
"His loud laugh, infectious personality and his big smile will be sorely missed by everyone who knew Bryan.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Sophia, his children Luca and Sadhbh, to Bryan’s mother, step father and sisters and to the extended Timlin and Madden families. Bryan you will be forever missed."
Ballina Rugby Club, of which he was also a member for a number of years, has also paid tribute to him.
The tribute stated: "He might have been nicknamed 'Tiny' during his days with Ballina Rugby Club but Bryan Timlin left a giant of an impression on all who wore the green jersey alongside him.
"Bryan passed away peacefully at his residence on the Foxford Road in recent days and news of his death has been greeted with great sadness in Ballina RFC.
"Bryan was a dynamic scrum-half who played with great style and a sense of adventure.
"Tales of his daring and courageous displays have been echoing off the walls and smiles have spread across faces as they recalled youth and underage matches from the eighties when the world was filled with possibilities.
"Everyone in Ballina RFC sends their sincerest sympathies to Bryan's beloved wife Sophia and his adored children Luca and Sadhbh.
"We also think of his loving mother Marie, stepfather Dieter, sisters Marguerite, Yvonne and Jillian and the extended Timlin, Diamond and Madden families at this very sad time."
Funeral cortége will leave McGowan’s Funeral Home at 10.45 a.m. tomorrow (Friday) to arrive at St. Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina, for of Liturgy of Prayers at 11 a.m.
Liturgy of Prayers will be live streamed on www.ballinaparish.org followed by a crematorium at 3p.m. in Shannon Crematurium, Co. Clare.

Due to current government restrictions, Bryan’s Liturgy of Prayers and crematorium ceremony will be private to family only.
