Mayo records 127 new Covid cases in past two weeks

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of nine additional deaths related to Covid-19.

Three of these deaths occurred in January, two in February, three in March and one in April.

There has been a total of 4,727 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland.

As of midnight on Monday the HPSC was notified of 443 new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 238,907.

They include eight in Mayo, now with 127 over the past two weeks.

The county's 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of its population is 93.3 - below the national average of 157.1.

Mayo's five-day moving average is down to seven.

Of the other cases notified today:

239 are men and 203 are women.

75% are under 45 years of age.

The median age is 31 years old.

208 in Dublin, 32 in Cork, 24 in Kildare, 20 in Meath, 17 in Donegal and the remaining 142 spread across 19 other counties.

As of 8 a.m. today, 261 Covid-19 patients were hospitalised, of which 60 were in ICU.

There have been 12 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Saturday (April 3) 932,324 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland:

660,800 people have received their first dose.

271,524 people have received their second dose.
