Two due in court following Mayo drugs seizure

TWO people arrested following a drugs seizure in Mayo on Saturday are due in court this morning (Monday).

Gardaí arrested the two following the seizure of €130,000 in suspected cannabis herb and cocaine, and €17,600 in cash after searches in the Mayo area.

The man and woman, who are in their twenties, have now been charged.

They are both due to appear before a sitting of Ballina District Court this morning.

As part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Mayo region, gardaí from the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit carried the searches in south Mayo, near the Cross area and later Kilmaine area.
