Ireland set to receive 545,000 extra Pfizer vaccines

Ireland is to receive close to 545,000 extra BioNTech-Pfizer vaccines, starting this month.

A statement issue by the EU Commission in Ireland stated: "We have reached an agreement with BioNTech-Pfizer to, once again, speed up the delivery of vaccines.

"Up to 50 million additional doses of BioNTech-Pfizer vaccines will be delivered in quarter two, starting in April."

Taoiseach Michaél Martin confirmed that over half a million of the vaccines will be directed to Ireland.
