Repairs to second burst on watermain in Kiltimagh area

FOLLOWING the successful completion of emergency repairs to a burst watermain in Kiltimagh yesterday evening, Irish Water and Mayo County Council are carrying out repairs to a second burst today (Saturday).

This burst is affecting water supply to approximately 50 houses in the Treankeel area.

Ger Greally, Irish Water, said the works are expected to be completed by 4 p.m. today.

It may take a couple of hours after this for full supply to return to all customers.

Irish Water has thanked the customers affected by yesterday’s burst for their patience and cooperation while those repairs were taking place.

People living in the Treankeel area are asked to conserve water where possible and to only use what they need whilst continuing to adhere to public health advice on hand washing and hygiene regarding Covid-19 while today’s repairs are underway.
