Crossmolina biodiversity park plans progressing

PLANS for a biodiversity park in Crossmolina are progressing.

Local Councillor Michael Loftus has confirmed that following a Ballina Municipal District workshop, approval was given by councillors for the park, at Mullinmore Street in Crossmolina, to go forward to the county council's community section for selection as one of the projects for Clár funding from the Department of Rural Affairs.

On his social media he explained: “This project is the brainchild of Fr. Francis Judge and members of the Vision 2025 Group and is getting universal support from all the neighbours.

“I want to thank our own Peter Gill, Park Superintendent in Mayo County Council, for all his work on this project.”

And in more good news for the area, plans for a new aqua park on Lough Conn are also progressing.

Said Councillor Loftus: “We hope after the Vision 2025 Group meet this week with the county council and a developer to agree terms on the aqua park to be up and running this summer.”
