Connacht Under 20 and minor championship details revealed
The Connacht Under 20 and minor football championships will commence on July 6/7 and July 13 respectively.
The Under 20 quarterfinal between Roscommon and Leitrim will get the ball rolling on either Tuesday, July 6, or Wednesday, July 7, and the winners of that game will play Sligo in the semi-final on Wednesday, July 14.
The other semi-final, between Galway and Mayo, will be played on Tuesday, July 13, and the final will be held on Tuesday, July 21, or Wednesday, July 22.
The Connacht winners will be in All-Ireland semi-final action on the weekend of July 31/August 1, with the final to be played on August 14/15.
Meanwhile, Mayo will be in quarterfinal action against Roscommon in the minor championship on Friday, July 23, or Saturday, July 24. The quarterfinal winners will play Galway in one semi-final on Saturday, July 31, with Sligo facing Leitrim in the other semi that same day.
The final will be held on Friday, August 6, or Saturday, August 7, with the All-Ireland semi-final to be played on the weekend of August 21/22 and the final a week later on August 28/29.
All games in the Connacht championships at Under 20 and minor level will be played at Centre of Excellence at Bekan. If necessary, there will be extra time and a finish on the day in all games.
At Under 20 level, the Connacht football winners will play their Ulster counterparts, while in the minor championship it will be Connacht v Leinster.
Meanwhile, the GAA has this evening confirmed that the 2020 All-Ireland minor and Under 20 competitions will be completed by July 17/18.
