New playground is now open in Mulranny

THE new playground has opened in Mulranny.

The good news was announced by Mulranny Community Futures on their social media this morning.

The playground is now 'open and ready for some serious play!', they confirmed.

It is hoped to have an official opening at a later date when restrictions allow to celebrate the occasion.

Mulranny Community Futures extended thanks to everybody who has helped make this wish a reality - the fundraising committee, local councillors who contributed funding, South West Mayo Development Company who administered the LEADER funding, Creative Play Solutions, the quality contractor, everybody who donated funds in any way and Mayo County Council who drove and oversaw the project to fruition and who will continue to look after the playground into the future.

They also paid tribute to the Doherty family who donated the land for the facility.
