Emergency repairs taking place on burst watermain in Knockmore
IRISH Water have advised customers in Knockmore that a burst watermain will have an impact on their water supply today.
Commenting, Ger Greally, asset operations lead for Irish Water, explained: “This watermain burst overnight and resulted in the Knockmore reservoir being drained down.
“Areas affected include Cloghans, Rathbaun, Tonybaun, Corraveggaun, Ballynahagish, Corroy, Cloonturk and outlying areas of Ballina on the Knockmore Road.
“A crew is carrying out emergency repairs as quickly and safely as possible and traffic management will be in place while these essential works are underway.
“It is likely water supply will be off until 4 p.m. today but it may take 2-3 hours for normal supply to return.
“Irish Water understands the inconvenience to customers when their water supply is affected and we would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while this unplanned outage is attended to.”
