Funding of €747,000 confirmed for Mayo offshore islands

A sum of €747,000 has been allocated to Mayo County Council to support a range of capital works on Mayo’s offshore islands.

It will fund the following projects on Clare Island, Inis Bigil and Inishturk.

Clare Island: Road refurbishment along with related drainage work on 2,800m of L-5897, and 200m of L-58971.€297,000

Clare Island: Refurbishment of road area totalling 4,500m2 along with related drainage work on L-5898, €94,500.

Clare Island: Refurbishment of road area totalling 2,500m2 along with related drainage work on L-58961, €47,700.

Clare Island: Road refurbishment of road area totalling 1,350m2, along with related drainage work on L-58963,€25,200.

Clare Island: Refurbishment of road area totalling 2,250m2, along with related drainage work on L-58962,€42,300.

Inis Bigil: Refurbishment of roads, area totalling 5,400m2, €55,800.

Inishturk/Clare Island:Support for preparation of a strategic development plan for the piers on the islands, to include Roonagh Pier and slipways for Inis Toirc and Cliara, €45,000.

Inishturk/Clare Island: Servicing Clare Island and Inis Turk. Refurbishment works on Old Roonagh Pier, €139,500.
