FAI-ETB Player Development Course in Mayo

Registration is now open for the FAI-ETB Player Development Course at Solar 21 Park, Milebush, Castlebar.

The aim of this training course is to give people the skills to either progress to full-time employment in the sports, leisure and recreation industry or to progress onto further education.

The course is run in partnership between the Football Association of Ireland and the Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB), and allows learners to develop their football coaching and playing ability in a holistic environment. It also provides an alternative route into third level education.

The sports-themed modules will prepare attendees for third level sports degree courses, should this be their ambition. It's a safe and challenging environment for people to excel in their football ambitions, both playing and coaching. Coaching will be provided by the highest qualified FAI accredited and UEFA Pro and A licence coaches.

Graduates will emerge from the course with a QQI Level 5 qualification in sport and recreation, plus an ITEC Gym Instructor Diploma, FAI coach education qualifications and a lifeguard qualification (optional), any may qualify for a training allowance for the duration of the free course. An accommodation allowance or travel allowance can also be claimed if attendees need to live away from home for the duration or have to travel to attend. Intreo Offices can give advice on any allowances whilst on a training course.
