Connacht beaten by Benetton in Rainbow Cup

Connacht were beaten 20-12 by Benetton in their Guinness PRO14 Rainbow Cup encounter at Stadio Comunale di Monigo this evening.

The visitors actually scored more tries than their hosts, through Shane Delahunt and Paul Boyle, with Tom Daly converting one, but still they couldn't quite earn victory.

Benetton's try was scored by centre Juan Ignacio Brex, while Paolo Garbisi slotted five penalties to give the Italians their fourth victory in succession.

It wasn't all disappointment for the westerners as Denis Buckley made his 200th appearance for Connacht – and did so in the same stadium in which he made his debut in 2011.

Next up for Connacht is a home game against Ospreys next Friday (June 4). Kick-off is at 6 p.m.
