Balla GAA Club announces Breaffy House Resort sponsorship

Balla GAA Club are delighted to announce that Breaffy House Resort, in association with Healy Macs, will be the new sponsor of the club’s senior team.

The club and Breaffy House Resort have agreed a minimum of three-year deal. The sponsorship is a landmark deal for the club and will no doubt help secure a bright future for the young footballers of the area.

The partnership will have its first competitive outing tomorrow (Saturday) against Ballintubber, at Nally Park, in the Kelly Cup.

Breaffy House Resort has a long association with the community. One of its current owners, Balla native Cyril Duffy, was a key figure in ensuring the resort remained in operation in 2014 when he led the takeover bid, thus undergoing an extensive investment and refurbishment programme.

Balla GAA chairman Gerry O’Neill said: “We are absolutely delighted and very grateful to have a company like Breaffy House Resort sponsor our senior team for their return to the Mayo senior championship this year.

“We would like to extend a massive thank you to Cyril Duffy, who is an uncle of our club joint-captain, Barry, for his very generous support to our club. We would also like to thank Wilson Bird, general manager of the Resort, for all his work in making the sponsorship deal run so smoothly. “We are really looking forward to what we believe will be a promising and fruitful partnership.”

Wilson Bird added: “Breaffy House Resort and Healy Mac’s are delighted to sponsor the Balla senior team for the seasons ahead.

“We have always taken great pride in supporting local community sporting organisations like Balla GAA Club, and to have such close links with the club makes it a very exciting partnership and one we’re really looking forward to.”

Wilson and his staff were instrumental in restoring Breaffy House Resort to a four-star facility a number of years ago and its sprawling estate is a testament to their hard work and commitment.

The club would like to extend its thanks to Cyril, Wilson and all the team at Breaffy House Resort and are excited about the future.
