The O'Connor family has extended special thanks to Martin’s carers Katie, Ann Marie, Colette and Ailish, The Community Action on Dementia Mayo and Western Alzheimer’s.

Tributes have been paid to the deceased on the death notice website RIP.ie.

One stated that Martin is very fondly remembered around Trim and Longwood as an all-round decent man and a great man to take on a job and get it done in the best of order.

He was also described as 'a lovely man' and one who extended great kindness to others.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
