Plea for local authority support for Mayo's Admiral Brown Society after Covid setback

Local authority support has been requested for the Admiral William Brown Society in Foxford.

The society has been impacted by the Covid pandemic and their issues were raised by local Councillor Neil Cruise.

The society, he said, has hosted many events fostering the strong links between Foxford and Argentina, welcoming various Ambassadors and the crew of the Libertad.

The late Argentine Ambassador, Laura Bernal, is also buried in Foxford.

Councillor Cruise asked that management hold a meeting soon to try and sort something out.

He was supported by Councillor Brendan Mulroy who said the society is a credit to Foxford and the county.
