€12.5m. collected in rates in Mayo to date this year

THE rates collection for the year to date amounts to €12.5 million.

The figure was confirmed by Mayo County Council's director of finance, Peter Duggan, following a query from Councillor Michael Loftus.

Councillor Loftus welcomed the government decision to extend the rates waiver to quarter 3 of this year, saying it was an important move for business people and communities.

Mr. Duggan said ratepayers who have difficulties are urged to contact the council.
