Issues in Castlebar estate to be addressed
A NUMBER of ongoing issues raised by residents in Orlagh Grove in Castlebar are to be resolved.
Confirmation of works for the Newport Road estate has been received from Iarla Moran, head of the Castlebar Municipal District.
Issues included wall capping being removed, no signage to identify the estate, tree replacement, and an ongoing issue where boundary fencing onto the riverside walk has been damaged, with openings being used as a shortcut by pedestrians who engage in littering in the area.
Councillor Ger Deere, who raised the residents concerns at a recent municipal meeting, welcomed the news that these matters will be resolved.
He complimented the residents for the pride they have in maintaining their estate and said he looks forward to work commencing soon.
