Mayo communities mourn passing of the much-loved Mary Gannon

The death has occurred peacefully at her residence of Mary Gannon (née Cosgrove), Foxford Post Office, and formerly of Geesala.

Predeceased by her husband Padraig, she will be dearly and lovingly missed by her family - Ruth, Margaret, Peter, Pat, Niamh, Catherine, Sinead and Eimear - her adored grandchildren, daughter-in-law Sharon, sons- in-law Martin, John, Colin and Peter, sister in-law Maura Gannon and by Barbara, Teresa and Carmel, relatives and a large circle of friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

Many warm tributes have been paid to the deceased on the condolences page of RIP.ie.

One stated: "Her natural, kind, caring and generous ways were infectious and continue to live on in her beautiful family.

"We will never forget her warm and welcoming smile."

Another described Mary as a very kind, good natured and welcoming person.

Funeral cortège will leave her residence on Saturday morning at 10.45 a.m. to arrive to St. Michael's Church, Foxford, for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m., with the funeral proceeding afterwards to Craggagh Cemetery.
