Croke Park set to host Connacht SFC final between Mayo and Galway on July 25

The Connacht senior football championship between Mayo and Galway on Sunday, July 25, is being held in Croke Park - not MacHale Park in Castlebar as originally planned.

The decision has been made this evening by the Connacht Council.

Up to 18,000 supporters will be permitted to attend the match in line with Covid regulations.

That compares to just 3,500 if the decider went ahead in Castlebar as planned.

Both Mayo GAA and Galway GAA County Board have been consulted in respect of the move.
