Thunderstorm and rain warning in place for Mayo until 8 o'clock

Met Éireann has issued a thunderstorm and rain warning for Mayo.

Thunderstorms will occur in places this afternoon and evening with lightning, hail and heavy downpours resulting in localised flooding and hazardous driving conditions.

Other counties at risk include Galway, Sligo, Roscommon, Wicklow, Kildare, Laois, Offaly, Tipperary and Clare.

The warning is valid until 8 p.m.
