Passing of popular Castlebar personality Josie Moore

The death has occurred peacefully at Mayo University Hospital of Josephine (Josie) Moore, (née Bartley), Riverdale Court, Knockthomas, Castlebar and formerly of McHale Road, Castlebar.

Predeceased by her parents Bridie and George Bartley, her loving husband Frank, formerly of Cloonagh, Croghan, Tullamore, and her brother Eddie, she will be sadly missed by her sorrowing sons Noel, John and Christopher, daughters Martina, Dolores and Clodagh, her adored grandsons and granddaughters, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

Josie worked in the Old Castlebar Bacon Factory and the Hat Factory.

She was a talented dart player, having played on many teams, including Sloyan's.

She loved card playing and organised many card drives.

Josie enjoyed listening to country music and in particular Daniel O'Donnell and Michael English but her favourite was her relations from Ballina, The Moyles.

Josie will repose in the Kilcoyne Funeral Home on Tuesday morning at 9.45 a.m. with removal at 10.45 a.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, via McHale Road, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30am.

Afterwards Josie will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Frank in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
