Mayo rated at 9/2 to win All-Ireland title as Kerry are new favourites

Kerry were crowned Munster SFC champions yesterday after hammering Cork at Fitzgerald Stadium 4-22 to 1-9 and their odds for All-Ireland glory are now on the move.

The question on every GAA fan’s lips is whether any team can ruffle Dublin’s feathers this year and Kerry are now being increasingly backed to do just that.

BoyleSports have made the Kingdom the new favourites to win the All-Ireland and deny Dublin a seventh title in a row as their odds have been cut into 6/5 from 6/4.

This is the first time in recent years that Dublin have not been favourites for Sam Maguire as their chances have been eased this week out to 11/8 from 11/10, the biggest price they have been since betting opened off the back of their sixth consecutive All-Ireland win late last year.

Mayo are rated the main threat to the leading pair at 9/2, with Ulster pair Tyrone and Monaghan at 16/1 and 25/1 respectively to end Dublin’s reign as All-Ireland champions.

Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “Kerry have made light work of their campaign so far and the way they wiped the floor with Cork has clearly caught the eye.

"They have now been backed into 6/5 from 6/4 for All-Ireland glory following strong support, meaning they are the new favourites and massive losers for us. Punters are obviously starting to doubt Dublin’s credentials for seven-in-a-row as they are now out to 11/8 from 11/10, the biggest price they have been in recent years.”
