Vandals damaged boat and willow installations at Moore Hall

CALLOUS vandals have come in for scathing criticism after a burnt-out boat and damage to some of the willow installations along the trail at Moore Hall Estate and House were highlighted by the public yesterday.

Deputy Alan Dillon described the incident as a 'shameful act of vandalism'.

Such behaviour can’t and won’t be tolerated, he said, describing the destruction as 'totally pointless' and 'mindless vandalism'.

He appealed to the public who were in the area at the time to report anything suspicious to the local gardaí.

Moore Hall Estate and House is a major attraction and work is underway to develop the historical site into a nationally important nature reserve and tourist attraction for the benefit of the people of Mayo and the nation.
