Mayo Live Series – a programme of outdoor live events

Mayo County Council has announced Mayo Live – a programme of outdoor live events across the county taking place in mid-August and September, bringing live events to local communities and showcasing local talent.

Mayo Live is part of the Local Live Performance Programming Scheme, which is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

The scheme aims to support those working in the commercial arts and culture sectors by developing events that engage the services of local professional artists, musicians, technicians, producers and other professional practitioners involved in live performances. It will provide support for local people in the live performance industry to facilitate programming of outdoor live performances across the country in summer, animating local communities (subject to public health considerations).

The line-up for the Mayo Live programme came from an open call to organisations, groups, producers, promoters or venues who wish to receive support for outdoor live performances taking place before the end of September.

Events will take place across the four municipal districts of County Mayo. There will be a wide range of events for people young and old to enjoy. Events are mainly free of charge or some have a nominal fee.

The Mayo Live programme will be available soon on www.mayo.ie and will be updated with events over the coming weeks. Bookings will be through each individual event organiser and not through Mayo County Council.
