Update on double jaw fracture suffered by Mayo GAA star provided by his club

Talented Mayo defender Eoghan McLaughlin has suffered a double fracture of his jaw and is undergoing surgery today.

The news has been confirmed by Westport GAA Club.

He incurred the injury during the course of yesterday's evening's victory over Dublin in the All-Ireland SFC semi-final at Croke Park and was stretched off.

A statement issued by his club outlined: "We are so proud of all our Westport contingent in both matches yesterday but our thoughts are with Eoghan McLaughlin as he undergoes surgery today for a double fracture in his jaw.

"Eoghan is in good spirits and extends his thanks to everyone for their kind messages of support.

"We wish Eoghan a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him in the green and red of Mayo and the blue of Westport soon."
