Increase in Covid numbers at Mayo University Hospital

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) has risen by two to 15 in the past 24 hours.

That's according to the latest assessment conducted at the Castlebar facility by the HSE at 8 p.m. yesterday after three new cases were admitted.

It's the joint third highest in the country alongside Galway University Hospital and St. James's Hospital - behind Beaumont Hospital with 21 and University Hospital Limerick with 18.

One Covid patient at MUH is in intensive care, down from three earlier in the week.

There are two vacant general beds and four vacant ICU beds at the centre today.
