Ireland's 14-day Covid incidence rate rises to 'extremely high' 526

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 1,571 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

As of 8 a.m. today, 307 patients are hospitalised, of which 55 are in ICU.

Dr. Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health, said: "On average, we have reported 1,814 confirmed cases per day for the last five days.

"Our 14-day incidence is now 526 per 100,000 population.

"This is an extremely high incidence of disease circulating in our communities."
