Mayo arts centre's fundraiser offers chance to win a fortune!

It is widely known that the pandemic has had a devastating effect across Ireland’s arts and cultural sector and in an unusual effort to improve its financial stability, Erris-based arts centre Áras Inis Gluaire is launching a EuroMillions Super Syndicate.

This unique fundraising venture is already attracting curious attention from people all over Mayo and from international Diaspora communities with connections to Erris.

Located in Belmullet town, the Áras Inis Gluaire team are excited to raise much-needed funds in such a spectacular way – offering people a rare chance to win a share of millions of euro.

Manager Ian Mac Aindriú explains: “We are appealing to people – near and far – to please help us raise funds so that we can continue to be one of Ireland’s leading bilingual arts centres. We are a not-for-profit community-based company and we host a variety of arts and educational activities for people living, studying and working in Erris. Ní neart go cur le chéile!”

This syndicate is capped at 300 shares, which means that potentially 300 people each have 2,000 chances to win – it is a rare and exceptional opportunity.

The extraordinary fundraiser involves the purchase (by the Áras Inis Gluaire committee) of 100 lines in each EuroMillions draw, including the ‘Plus’ on Tuesdays and Fridays, for 10 weeks. This means that there will be 20 draws and, therefore, 2,000 chances to win. If one person were to do this by themselves, it would cost €7,000.

The 100 lines of numbers will be selected in advance of the first draw by Quick Pick and will not change for each of the subsequent 19 draws entered. These numbers will be circulated to each member of the syndicate, along with a membership certificate, in advance of the first draw. All winnings will be shared equally amongst syndicate members at the end of the 10th week.

One share in the syndicate costs €100. The maximum number of shares available for issue is 300. The first draw will take place on Friday, October 8, and the final draw will take place on Tuesday, December 14.

To become a member of the syndicate, you can complete a simple application form in Áras Inis Gluaire and pay €100 by cheque or cash or card payment. Bank transfer payments are also acceptable (bank details are available on the application form and it is important to reference your name during the bank transfer). You can also pay online – go to www.arasinisgluaire.ie and fill in your name and details. The closing date for applications and payments is September 27.
