Further fall in Covid patients at Mayo University Hospital

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in care at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) has dropped by two to eight in the past 24 hours.

That'a according to the latest assessment conducted at the Castlebar facility by the HSE at 8 p.m. yesterday.

Two new cases were admitted to the centre on Wednesday.

There are 322 cases nationally, the Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, having the highest number with 35.

Galway University Hospital the second highest with 30 while Sligo University Hospital has 20 cases.

There are no suspected cases at the Castlebar facility and three Covid patients are in ICU.

The centre has six vacant general beds and one vacant ICU bed.
