Land lease approved for Mayo solar park development

The lease of lands in Claremorris for a solar park development has been approved by the local Municipal District.

Claremorris and Western District Energy Co-operative are behind the renewable energy project.

Councillors have approved the disposal of 5.356 hectares of land at Clare, Claremorris, to the co-operative under a 25-year lease for the provision of a solar park, with an option to renew.

Claremorris and Western District Energy Co-Op was established to develop the benefits of community owned renewable energy, supporting communities and addressing climate change in the west of Ireland.
