Nominate Mayo business for JCI Ireland Friendly Business Awards

IRELAND is famous all over the world for its one hundred thousand welcomes (Céad Míle Fáilte) and now JCI Ireland is on the hunt for Ireland’s Friendliest Business.

Do you know a business that makes you smile every time you use their service? If you do, don’t keep it a secret, nominate them for the JCI Ireland Friendly Business Awards competition.

We all need to support local businesses to ensure they have a future after the pandemic.

The JCI Ireland Friendly Business Awards seek to recognise the important role played by small and medium businesses in the continuous development and improvement of our economy and local communities. The competition aims to award businesses that go the extra mile and provide an outstanding service to their customers and their community at large.

It is particularly important in this economic environment to highlight businesses that don't allow their standards to slip and continue to provide quality services in a friendly manner.

Carol Ho, National President of JCI Ireland, says: “Every day, small and medium business owners work very hard to not only survive but thrive in business. In this fast paced world, businesses nowadays have to think outside the box across a range of areas to satisfy a diverse range of customers.

“The JCI Ireland Friendly Business Awards seek to highlight and shine a light on those businesses who are making that extra effort to meet all the needs of their customers. For a lot of small businesses in Ireland, they have been struggling to restart the business in the last few months and they all need our support and recognition.”

Ireland’s Friendliest Business will be awarded under the following 7 categories: Community Impact, Customer Care, Disability Access, Digital Experience, Eco-Friendliness, Covid-19 Protection Award, and Covid-19 Relief Assistance Award. These categories are the foundations of a business that has the customer at their core.

Last year, two Mayo businesses were celebrated during the virtual awards ceremony in December. Irish Online Counselling & Psychotherapy Service were crowned as the winners of the Covid-19 Protection Award, with Mount Falcon announced as the runner-up in the same category.

JCI Mayo President, Áine Mc Manamon, encourages people to nominate local Mayo businesses for these awards and says: “By supporting a small local business, you are not only boosting the local economy but also supporting the local community. Keeping smaller-sized businesses open will help not only create jobs, but also sustain them as well as keep the community bustling with shoppers and tourists. This support is badly needed as businesses get back on their feet after the pandemic.”

The closing date for nominations is Monday, September 6. Nominations are submitted online via the JCI Ireland website: https://jciireland.ie/friendly-business-awards.html
