Free quality autumn training calendar for Mayo food and drink sector

A SUPERB programme of training courses and networking events is being offered by the Mayo Food and Drink Networking and Training Programme which was launched by chef Brian McDermott earlier in the summer.

This is an exceptional chance for everyone in the food and drink sector to avail of free training with outstanding trainers and guest speakers.

A wide range of courses and events will suit owners, managers and staff of food and drink producers, food trucks, food festival organisers, food experiences, hospitality (cafes, restaurants and hotels) and food tourism providers at every stage of business development.

“This programme is worth checking out because it’s totally food focused and the trainers are excellent,” said Oonagh Monahan, programme manager, who has vast experience in the food and drink industry. “The courses and events will help you develop your business, and you might miss out if you don’t participate! The training courses are interesting, relevant, enjoyable and above all will help you grow your business more profitably.”

The programme calendar runs until July 2022 and consists of free training, mentoring, and networking events which are designed for and available exclusively to Mayo food and drink businesses. Booking for these free courses is through Eventbrite, with links on social media (@mayofoodanddrink).

The Mayo Food and Drink Programme is a LEADER funded response to the challenges and opportunities identified in the Mayo Food & Drink Strategy 2025. It puts into action the specific priorities identified by producers and is totally food and drink focused.

All trainers are expert in their own fields and all steeped in the food and drink sector. They are Aisling Roche (marketing and business development); Louise McDonnell (e-commerce and e-marketing); Suzanne O’Brien (food tourism/integrating the food and drink sectors with tourism); and Derek and Joanna Hannick (adapting food and drink businesses for future opportunities and challenges).
