The new walkway and vehicular access to the car park at Lough Lannagh, Castlebar.

New access facilities to popular Mayo lakeside walk are lauded

THE widening of the entrance to Lough Lannagh, Castlebar, on the Westport Road is a splendid piece of work and greatly enhances the entire area.

The work was carried out by the Michael O’Malley tarmac company and is well up to the high standards set by this reputable firm over the years.

The landscaping in the area has been carried out by Tom O’Toole, Gairdín Glass, Ballintubber, and is also of a very high standard, a credit to Tom and the personal interest he takes in all his work.

Tom has a keen interest in rugby and played many starring roles for Castlebar over the years.

Lough Lannagh is an integral part of the Bilberry chain of lakes, a vast waterway which goes as far as Islandeady, a distance of six miles. Lannagh has great potential which hopefully will be fully exploited over the next few years.

Onwards and upwards as far as Lough Lannagh is concerned, a wonderful amenity on Castlebar’s doorstep.
