South Mayo councillor appointed Peace Commissioner

FINE Gael Councillor Michael Burke has been appointed as a Peace Commissioner.

On receiving official confirmation of the Ballinrobe councillor's appointment, Deputy Michael Ring extended his congratulations to him.

He stated: “Michael Burke is a man of very good character and standing within the community. He is well respected within his own profession and also within the council.

“He is very much a community man and I think this appointment is very appropriate to Michael Burke.”
