Irish Water to update Mayo councillors on new non-domestic tariffs

IRISH Water is to update Mayo councillors next month on its new non-domestic tariffs framework.

Elected members had asked that changes to the charging system be deferred, unhappy that the company declined an invitation to make a presentation on the new system at a local authority meeting.

Irish Water have committed to providing an update on the new non-domestic tariff framework for its business customers to all elected representatives in the county at the next Irish Water Councillor Clinic for Mayo, to be held on October 11.

As part of this clinic, Irish Water will provide a presentation of the new framework and will address any questions elected representatives may have.

In a statement, the company said: 'Irish Water will continue to keep elected representatives informed, briefing representatives on key events within their area and hear any queries they may have on behalf of themselves or their constituents in relation to the delivery of water services.

'Clinics are held in Mayo four times a year. The last councillor clinic for Mayo took place on July 12, 2021.

'Outside of the clinics, we also have a number of ways in which local representatives can get in contact with Irish Water.'

They include a local representative support desk which is available on weekdays to deal with queries from elected representatives, while outside these hours, the 24/7 customer care line is available for urgent queries at 1800 278 278.
