Connacht GAA and Graphenstone Paint team up successfully

The Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, located in Bekan, Mayo, is taking one step further in its sustainability and eco-friendly programme by selecting Graphenstone Paint for the exterior of its state-of-the-art sports centre.

Graphenstone is the world’s most certified sustainable and eco-friendly paint. Launched last year on the Irish market, Graphenstone Paint was founded with the objective of innovating new ecological, natural and sustainable paints, with unrivalled durability.

The painting project was recently completed and the centre is now transformed with its iconic blue and grey colours.

Commenting on the project, Kurt Reinhardt from Connacht GAA said: “Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence has worked hard to create a sustainable facility for both our players and our local community. In recent years, we have implemented a number of eco-friendly initiatives that demonstrates our commitment to proactive sustainability in all that we do.

“Energy efficiency measures, a biodiversity programme with schools and participating in the new Green Clubs Programme are some of the initiatives we have engaged with.”

He added: “Graphenstone Ireland was an obvious choice for us to work with. Their sustainability ethos is a perfect match for Connacht GAA and we are delighted with the final result.”

Keith Byrne, CEO of Graphenstone Ireland, added: “We are proud to be partnering with Connacht GAA on this project. Graphenstone was developed to meet the needs of a greener and more natural world, something Connacht GAA excels in. Their sustainability initiatives and goals align us perfectly as a brand to them, and we were proud to be working with them.”
