Sharp rise in Mayo hospitalised Covid cases

Ten confirmed Covid cases are in care at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) today.

That's according to figures recorded by the HSE at the Castlebar centre at 8 p.m.

It represents an increase of seven since 8 p.m. on Friday, September 24.

Two new cases were admitted to the facility yesterday. There is also one suspected case in care.

MUH's statistics are the 11th highest in the country with University Hospital Limerick having the most with 36,

Galway University Hospital has 12 and Sligo University Hospital 4.

One of the 10 cases at MUH is in intensive care.
