No decision yet on Mayo GAA county final venues with McHale Park closed until May 1

The chairman of Mayo GAA has confirmed that McHale Park in Castlebar is expected to reopen on May 1 next year following a major pitch resurfacing project costing in the region of €1 million.

But Liam Moffatt revealed that no decision has been made yet in respect of venues for county finals as McHale Park would normally host those games.

The matter will be considered very shortly and an announcement made.

Moffatt has also confirmed that the organisation is in the process of making two major appointments in conjunction with Croke Park.

They are Operations and Finance Manager and a High Performance Coach.

A short list of candidates has already been drawn up for the former post.
