Famous Mayo Christmas lights display set to benefit another worthy cause

A new van is being presented to service users of Cheshire Mayo in Bohola on Friday by Kevin and Brendan Hughes of Coolegrane Lights, Foxford.

Coolegrane Lights put on a spectacular display of Chistmas lighting every year with all donations going to worthy causes in Mayo.

The generosity of the people who contributed €8,034 to the Coolegrane Lights at Christmas 2020 is gratefully acknowledged by Cheshire Mayo.

This vehicle will provide transport for service users in safety and comfort for many years to come.

The hard work, enthusiasm, imagination and skill of Kevin and Brendan in setting up and keeping lit the Coolegrane Lights is inspiring.

Deirdre Lennon, fundraising and corporate affairs manager for Cheshire Ireland, said “We are delighted to receive this funding from Kevin and Brendan Hughes of Coolegrane Lights.

"It will make such a difference to the people we support.

"The ability to fundraise has been decimated over the past 18 months and we are so thankful for the support from not just Coolegrane Lights but from the whole community that came out to see the lights and support Cheshire Mayo – our sincere thanks to all.”
