Lighting up a Mayo street in support of social inclusion

In support of Mayo Social Inclusion Week, The Connaught Telegraph, Main Street, Castlebar, is privileged to host a ceramic light sculpture in its front display window.

The light installation by the art disability group, Luisne, will light up the street for Mayo Social Inclusion Week.

The artwork, entitled “Light Through Our Dreams,” is a symbol of hope to all marginalised communities.

Mayo Social Inclusion Week, which is being officially launched tomorrow (Thursday), provides an opportunity to promote and highlight the very positive work that the public and the community sectors is doing on a day to day basis to reduce discrimination, racism, poverty and social exclusion.

It is also a time to reflect on the many challenges faced by vulnerable members in the community.

The 2021 Mayo Social Inclusion Week Theme is ‘Connecting’.
