Mayo player scoops €250,000 in Lotto Plus 2 draw

THE dream of becoming the largest Lotto jackpot winner ever in Ireland continues after there was no winner of Wednesday night’s capped €19,060,800 amount.

Two players in Dublin both came to within just one number of the massive jackpot, winning €565,390 each.

A Lotto player in Mayo is also celebrating after scooping the top prize of €250,000 in the Lotto Plus 2 draw. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at An Post in Bangor Erris.

Amanda Brogan, postmistress at Bangor Erris Post Office, said it was great news for the town and post office.

“During the pandemic, we really became a meeting point for locals and it’s great that we’re now at the centre of a brilliant good news story,” she said.

“I am delighted for the post office as we are located at the heart a small village and we have lots of local customers who will be over the moon to hear the news.

“This is the biggest Lotto prize that we have ever sold so I imagine we will see lots of customers come in to check their tickets. Hopefully the luck might continue and we’ll have another big win again soon.”

The three biggest winning ticket holders have been advised to sign the back of their tickets and keep them safe. They can contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prizes.
