Mayo's latest Covid hospitalisation statistics revealed

The number of confirmed Covid patients in care at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) is four - a drop of six in the space of the past week.

That's according to figures recorded at the facility at 8 p.m. yesterday.

It is one of the lowest number in the country and a very encouraging sign in the county's ongoing fight against the virus.

Tallaght Hospital and University Hospital Limerick have the highest number with 38.

Galway University Hospital has the third highest with 21 while Sligo University Hospital has nine.

One new case was admitted to MUH yesterday and there is one suspected case at the centre.

One confirmed case at Castlebar is in intensive care.
