Ring turns sod on Newport National School extension

DEPUTY Michael Ring turned the sod on a major extension development at Newport National School today (Friday).

The school has been granted funding for a 'significant extension' due to increasing enrolment.

Commented Deputy Ring: “It is wonderful to see a school like Newport National School being allocated funding to develop their school.

“Newport National School is an extremely progressive school. This extension is an investment in the future. The extension will allow the school to expand capacity.

“Schools are continually developing the education that they offer and it is wonderful to see them being granted the funding to do this.

“Investing in education is one of the best ways of supporting communities. The teachers in Newport National School are committed to ensuring that their pupils get the best education possible and that they leave the school as young adults with a positive outlook on life.”

He added: “I look forward to seeing this new extension on its completion.”
