Death of John Monaghan, Meelick, is deeply regretted

The death has occurred of John Monaghan, Ardhoom, Meelick, Swinford, and formerly of Johnstown, Killulagh, Delvin, Co. Westmeath.

He died peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Mayo Hospice, Castlebar, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Richard and Mary, his wife Doreen, brothers Danny, Richie and Larry, and sister Marion, John will be sadly missed by his partner Judith, sister Teresa Core (Mullingar), sister-in-law Maureen, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is extended.

John worked for many years in the mines in Alaska and Canada.

He also worked on the railways in London and, in later years, in the colleges of Bolton.

John will repose at Kilcoyne's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. with removal at 11 a.m. to St. Luke's Church, Meelick, Swinford via Old Castle Gates and Meelick Community Centre, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon.

Removal takes place afterwards to Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan, arriving for service at 4.00pm.
