Breaffy community pays tribute to Kathleen Cunniffe

Warm tributes have been paid to Kathleen Cunniffe (née Conroy), Cottage Road, Breaffy, Castlebar, and late of Cloonaghmore, Breaffy, whose death took place at Mayo Hospice.

She is deeply regretted by her loving family: Mary Keegan (Virginia, USA), Tom Cunniffe (Breaffy) and Catherine Cunniffe - Hennelly (Islandeady, Castlebar), sons-in-law Paul and Brendan, grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Ella, Ava, Tommy, Tara, Shane and Anna-Kate, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Josie, grandson Conor Keegan (Virginia, USA), sisters Chris McDonnell (Moorehall), Delia Foley (Flordia), Vivienne Conroy (New York), Claire Touhy (Breaffy) and twin sister Nora Taylor (New York), and brothers Martin Conroy (Breaffy) and Mike Conroy (New York).

Tributes have been paid to her on the condolences page of the death notices website, RIP.ie.

One stated: “Breaffy have lost one of its best loved citizens, a most positive and distinguished lady.”

Another said: “Such a wonderful person, generous, kind and fun-loving. She gave so willingly to the community always.”

Katheen was laid to rest today at Breaffy Cemetery following Requiem Mass at St. Aloysius Church, Breaffy.
